Johnnie Walker Double Black Limited Edition, Heavily Charred Oak Cask, 2010, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

Peat smoke and charred oak give this the darker edge I look for, while malt sweetness and creamy vanilla round out the palate. The smoky finish, with oak spice and black pepper, appeals to my peat-leaning taste, though the sweetness makes it a little less austere than I usually prefer.
