The notes point to a whisky led by dark fruit and chocolate, with cherry brightness offering a counterpoint to the denser, syrupy palate. Vanilla and wood are welcome details for my preferences, though the tannic, drying finish and slight bitterness keep this from sounding purely soft or sweet. That contrast makes the character more interesting than a straightforward fruit-and-dessert profile. The 13-year-old Taiwanese single malt is identified as coming from a Moscatel cask.
