The contrast is what makes this Laphroaig appealing to me: smoky peat and lingering smoke sit alongside citrus, red berries and green apple, while salted toffee and caramel give the sweeter side some weight. Its Scottish Islay single-malt identity is clear in that peat-led direction, with oak undertones and toasted nuts adding a drier counterpoint. The medium-length finish keeps smoke present without making it the only thing to notice. A well-defined character, though peat remains central.
