Macallan Fine Oak Triple Cask Limited Edition 12 Year Old, Triple Cask, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

It sounds medium and balanced rather than especially heavy. Raisins, sultanas and dark chocolate bring a richer dried-fruit side, while lemon citrus, melon and vanilla keep it brighter. Toasted oak and subtle spice add structure, and the lingering finish with dried fruit, cedar and papaya sounds composed rather than forceful. That contrast is appealing: enough richness to hold attention without losing the lighter citrus and fruit notes.
