Macallan Rare Auld 37 Year Old, Oak Cask, Cask #5592, 1968, Duncan Taylor, 50.7%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

90 / 100

The fruit sounds like the clearest draw here: ripe apple and berries on the nose, then dried orange and quince jelly on the palate. Ginger and oak bring a warmer edge, while the medium-long finish turns woodier and a little sour. That balance sounds appealing, though not especially simple.
