As an unblended American whiskey from Kentucky, this has a coherent, clearly sweet character. Vanilla, caramel and soft oak carry through the nose and palate, while cherry cola and citrus zest offer a little contrast rather than taking the whisky in a different direction. The medium-long finish returns to sweet oak and vanilla, with hints of tropical fruit. The bourbon-cask detail complements that oak-led thread.
