Miltonduff Discovery 10 Year Old, Sherry Cask, Gordon & MacPhail, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

This points to a rich, rounded style, with chocolate, butterscotch and stewed fruits giving the palate plenty of weight. The fresh malt and creamy vanilla keep that richness from feeling one-note, while clove and peppery spice add a drier edge. Blackberry jam, cinnamon and citrus make for an appealing contrast in the finish. For someone drawn to fuller, sherry-led character, there’s a lot to like here.
