This reads as a firmly coastal, peat-led malt, with smoke and brine setting the tone from the nose through to the finish. The touch of sweetness on the palate offers a useful contrast, but it does not soften the whisky into an easygoing style. Its appeal seems to be the direct, persistent meeting of peat smoke and salt, with a long finish that keeps that character in focus.
