Old Grand-Dad 114 Proof Bourbon, New American Charred Oak Cask, Lot No. 37, 1988, 57%

88 / 100

Caramel and vanilla alongside seasoned oak and sweet, spicy rye: that’s a bourbon combination I’m drawn to. The charred oak and rye spice carry through the finish, though the mineral astringency is a small drawback for me.
