Old Overholt Straight Rye Whiskey 4 Year Old, 1991, 43%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

85 / 100

The oak sounds restrained on the nose and light and dry on the palate, while apples, herbs and rye spice do more of the talking. That balance appeals to me; the peppery oak on the finish gives the wood a little more presence without taking over.
