Pulteney Old Pulteney Distillery Labels 15 Year Old, Sherry & Bourbon Cask, Gordon & MacPhail, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

The bright citrus thread gives this whisky a clear sense of direction: orange lemonade and lemon lead into candied orange and Earl Grey. Creaminess, treacle toffee, and toasted oak add weight, while the grassy, salty finish keeps the ending brisk rather than simply sweet. That citrus-and-grass contrast is the most compelling part for me, and the notes feel distinctly described rather than relying on vague praise.
