Redbreast Oloroso Sherry 21 Year Old, Cask #21285, 2000, 58.7%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

92 / 100

The nose brings rich fruit and dark chocolate alongside spice, leather and tobacco, while the palate is described as mature, complex and richly sherried. The long finish is the strongest draw for me: its spicy, fruity, tobacco-led character gives the whisky a clear closing note. This sounds like a substantial, sherry-forward style, rather than a restrained one, and that focused finish helps make the character feel coherent.
