Seven Seals The Age of Taurus, Port Cask, 49.7%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

The appeal here is the contrast: smoky, peaty character alongside rich tawny-port notes and sweet oak. Peat is the source of that earthy, smoky edge, and the fruit gives it a softer counterpoint rather than making the whole picture feel one-note. Salt, dried fruits and sweet herbs add interest on the nose. This sounds like a warmly balanced choice for someone who enjoys smoke but wants sweetness alongside it.
