Springbank Open Day 2016 9 Year Old, Refill Marsala Hogshead Cask, 2016, 58.7%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

82 / 100

The light honey and caramelised sugars give the nose a softer side, but the palate is clearly sharp and spiced, with lemon and lime. The long, drying, citric finish makes this seem less immediately easy-going, though the contrast of sweetness and savoury edges sounds appealing.
