Starward Two-Fold, Red Wine Cask, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

Starward Two-Fold has an appealing push and pull: bright tropical fruit sits beside mixed red berries, while cereal and toast give the palate something plain and steady to lean on. Vanilla links the fruit to that firmer backbone without making the whole thing read as dessert. That delicate, long finish is a neat little contradiction, though not an impossible one. The contrast makes for a personable, easy-to-follow blend with more going on than a single fruit note.
