This reads as a clearly shaped, dessert-leaning sherry-cask whisky rather than the bright, fresh style I tend to favour. Rose petals and stewed pears give the nose some lift, while cacao and cinnamon doughnut pull it toward richer sweetness. I like that the palate is described as light and silky, which should keep those sweet notes from feeling too weighty. The persistent charred-barrel and cedar finish adds a drier, woodier counterpoint. A distinctive set of contrasts, though freshness is not its main draw.
