Willett Family Estate Bourbon 6 Year Old, New American Oak Cask, Cask #8281, Cerbaco Distribution No. 1, 62.7%

86 / 100

This reads as a rich, sweet-leaning bourbon, with caramel and brown sugar at the center and baking spice giving it some shape. The shift on the palate toward minty herbaceousness and oily char keeps it from being only dessert-like; that contrast is the most interesting part for me. The finish is described as long and warm, with cherry, eucalyptus and mint hanging on. It sounds fairly dense, so the sweetness may be a lot if you prefer a restrained style. Still, the spice and herbal edge give it balance.
