Willett Family Estate Single Barrel 'Piloncillo' 14 Year Old, Cask #1419, 62.1%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

82 / 100

The contrast is the interesting part: sweet intensity meets a sharp, creamy palate, rather than settling into uncomplicated richness. The syrupy nose and deep sugars give it a concentrated direction, while lingering wood and spice bring a drier edge. That touch of bitterness makes the finish less polished, but also keeps the sweetness from being the whole story. A distinctive, forceful style with enough tension to hold my interest, though the sharper edge may not suit every preference.
