Description

Decadent Drinks are a very well-known Independent Bottler in the whisky world. They came about due to the experimental works with independent bottlings which got out of hand, resulting in them now becoming an incredibly busy, popular company! They have collaborated with Whisky Sponge in order to provide their fans with some spectacular bottlings. This Bowmore was distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2020 at 20 years of age from a first fill bourbon barrel, with an outturn of only 172 bottles. The Whiskysponge decided to bottle this one at a natural strength of 51.7%.

Nose
Seawater and seaweed, damp earth and medium peat. Some grassy touches, wet tweed and wee medicinal notes, before fruits start to appear. Grilled pineapple, hints of banana and dried mango slices. A little paraffin and wet pebblestones too.
Palate
Tropical fruit juice. Mango, papaya, passion fruits. Pink grapefruits, still a hint of banana. This fruit basket comes mixed with hints of eucalyptus and burnt rosemary, briney notes and lemon juice. Ashy peat. A surprising sweeter hint of vanilla ice and coconut cream towards the end.
Finish
Rather long, sweet and fruity, with a hint of white pepper and peat in the aftertaste.
