Description

A lesser-known Speyside distillery that spent most of its life providing fillings for blended Scotch brands. Established in 1897, it was acquired by the Distillers Company in 1925 and closed by them sixty years later. Its warehouses are now the operational home of Aceo Spirits and Murray McDavid. A historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released as part of Diageo's Rare Malts Selection, a series created in 1995 to showcase cask-strength whiskies. This particular dram is all the more precious for having come from a distillery closed in 1985.

Floral, zesty, waxy lemons, vanilla, orange, delicate peat, and hints of white pepper.
Palate
Sweet and creamy, with citrus, apples, vanilla, mint, ginger, and a touch of oak and tobacco.
Finish
Long and dry, with sweet citrus, ginger, pepper, oak, and a lingering peppery spirit.
