A farm distillery owned and run by the Cuthbert family. It is only operational during the farm's quiet periods in mid-summer and mid-winter, sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. It has been operational since 2005, releasing its first whisky in 2018. This is the third release of single malt Scotch whisky from the Daftmill distillery, drawn from six first-fill bourbon barrels laid down in 2006 and bottled in 2018.

bluehour kettle15 SeptThere’s an inviting contrast here: honeyed barley and maple-soaked pancakes on the nose, then bright citrus and waxy peel on the palate. Vanilla and almond soften the drying oak, while the buttery, subtly grassy finish keeps things from feeling too sweet. That balance sounds quietly appealing and easy to settle into, with enough texture to hold an enthusiast’s attention without losing its approachable feel.
The citrus and orange give this a lively feel, while vanilla, almond and drying oak add a drier counterpoint. The unpeated label is noted, but the tasting notes don’t specify a smoke level.
moonlit.sparrow5 MayAt SGD 705.41, the citrus-and-maple appeal feels a little hard to justify.
raincheck.fox7 MarThe citrus and maple-syrup sweetness sound inviting, while drying oak gives the palate a firmer edge. The oak seems to sit alongside the vanilla and almond rather than define the whole character. I like that balance, though it leaves oak as more of a supporting note than the main event.
