Maltiply Tasting Profile
Nose
Waves of stewed apple, honeyed malt and soft blossom are embraced by raisin syrup, orange peel and antique oak polish.
Palate
Velvety swirls of fig jam, treacle toffee and creamy malt glide across the tongue, followed by clove-spiced chocolate, roasted hazelnut and a bright citrus lift.
Finish
Long, warming and gently dry—lingering sherry-soaked fruitcake, mellow oak tannin and a final whisper of vanilla-malt sweetness.

The oak seems to belong here, but it doesn’t appear to crowd out the fruit. Antique oak polish sits alongside raisin syrup and orange peel on the nose; later, mellow oak tannin meets sherry-soaked fruitcake and a little vanilla-malt sweetness. That’s a pleasing balance for an Oloroso-cask whisky: the oak gives the richer fruit some structure, while the citrus lift and spice keep the description from feeling one-note. Reflective, layered character, with the wood playing a supporting role rather than taking over.

The fig jam and treacle toffee sound rich, while the bright citrus lift and gently dry finish keep things from feeling too heavy. That balance is what makes this one appealing to me.
