I like how peach and apricot give this rye a welcome fruit lift, with red fruit and stone fruit continuing on the palate. Those notes sit alongside plenty of spice, making for a lively but well-balanced character.
The fruit keeps this from reading as spice alone: peach, apricot and ripe red plums on the nose carry into red fruit and stone fruit on the palate, alongside orange oil. That gives the black pepper, cinnamon and ginger a clear counterweight, with vanilla and brown sugar adding a sweeter thread. The finish shifts toward espresso and roasted grains, with pepper building. I like that fruit-and-spice balance; the close sounds more assertive than fruit-led, so this seems best suited to someone who enjoys layered rye character rather than a softer, purely fruity style.
Rye spice meets sweet cereal.
The balance of nougat sweetness and lively rye spice gives this a clear appeal. Red fruit and mint add a little lift, while the espresso and building pepper on the finish sound more assertive than I usually seek, but still well joined.
