This reads as a fairly rounded, fruit-led whisky rather than a very heavy one. Sweet orange and red berries on the nose give way to smoked orange, soft red fruits and iced caramel on the palate, so there’s a gentle contrast between sweetness and smoke. The slightly dry, fruity finish sounds like a good counterpoint to that richer caramel note. The character feels invitingly layered without losing its lightness.
