Ripe orchard fruit and baked apple give this an inviting centre, while mellow oak and gentle sherry character keep the sweetness from sounding one-dimensional. The warming, smooth, robustly oaked finish suggests a fairly oak-led close; that balance is more compelling to me than fruit sweetness alone. It reads as a composed Speyside malt, with enough contrast between apple, sherry and oak to hold interest.
