The sea salt and mineral notes give this Speyside malt the coastal edge I tend to enjoy, while pear drops and green fruits keep it bright rather than simply briny. There’s a pleasing turn from silky honey and butterscotch into pepper and candied ginger, then the finish carries fresh oak, allspice and bitter herbs. That mix of sweetness, freshness and savoury detail sounds engaging, with enough contrast to hold my interest.
