Loch Lomond 2007 Peated 18 Year Old, Bourbon Hogshead Cask, Cask #259, 2007, The Whisky Jury, 49.2%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

The soft vanilla and drying oak give this some of the familiar ground I like in a bourbon cask, but the fruit and bonfire smoke take it somewhere different. That balance sounds appealing: plenty of character without the peat crowding everything else out.
