The banana cake and orange peel give this Islay malt a clear fruit thread, while sweet malt and vanilla soften the peaty, fiery palate. Smoke, seaweed and sea spray keep the character firmly coastal rather than turning it into a fruit-led dram. That contrast is appealing, though the forceful peat seems to take the lead. A long, warming finish rounds out the impression.
