The appeal is the clear contrast between big, bold peat and smoke and the sweet richness of dried fruit. Honey and citrus bring a brighter note alongside smoke and char on the nose, while sherry sweetness is described as lingering through the long, peaty finish. That gives this 16-year-old Islay single malt a character with more than one direction: smoky at its core, but balanced by fruit and sweetness rather than defined by peat alone.
