There’s an interesting contrast here: some sweetness and slight licorice on the nose, followed by a quite dry palate and a finish described as less sweet and slightly bitter. The oak is prominent, but the notes say it isn’t uncomfortably tannic, which keeps that weight from sounding overbearing. I’d expect a characterful, somewhat stern style rather than an easy, sweet one; the bitterness is a reservation.
